50TH YEAR CELEBRATION OF GHANA INDEPENDENCE

The SANKORE FOUNDATION contributed significantly to the celebration of cultural diversity in Bongo, Bolga, and Tamale; and the commemoration of the 50th Year of Ghanaian Independence and 200 years of slavery abolition. The commemoration also launched the philanthropic partnership of THE SANKORE FOUNDATION and portions of the government and traditional rulers of Ghana. The coalition actively involved Boniface Gamillam, the Upper East Regional Minister, Francis A. Asampana District Chief Executive, Salifu Baba Atamale Lemyaarom, the Paramount Chief of the Bongo District, as well as Chiefs from 32 surrounding municipalities, and a three day long welcome celebration. The SANKORE FOUNDATION successfully hosted 23 participants from American, including full sponsorship of the children of Rakaba West African Dance Company, as part of the 50th Year Celebration of Ghanaian Independence.

AFRICAN INDIGENOUS UNITY FESTIVAL
AFRICAN INDIGENOUS UNITY FESTIVAL On Oct 12th - 27th, the SANKORE FOUNDATION in collaboration with Morehouse School of Medicine and the Bonaboto Association hosted the Ghana delegation of Bo-Naba Alemyarim Baba Salifu and the Taimako family for the first Annual African Indigenous Unity Festival. Bo-Naba Alemyarim Baba Salifu, Paramount Chief of Bongo Traditional Area, Bongo, Upper East Region will headlined the four-day fest of international networking, indigenous knowledge and politics, and seminars on African enterprise, traditional medicine, African religious spiritual philosophy; and opportunities to live, invest, learn, and experience Africa. Bo-Naba Alemyarim Baba Salifu requires no introduction! He will be joined by Faiza Ibrahim Taimako presenting, Northern Ghana: Traditional Healing & Indigenous Medicine At A Glance
